Leapfrog Recruitment are looking for a small animal Veterinary Surgeon to join a wonderful practice with an experienced team situated in Newbury, Berkshire. The role available is a permanent position which involves a good mix of consulting and surgery where you are enabled to work up cases as thoroughly as possible and have clinical freedom and autonomy.

Working hours:

• Full or Part time – a standard full time position is working 38hrs over 4 days with 1 in 4 Saturdays
• All applicants are welcome to suggest working hours/ a rota that works for you
• No OOHs

Salary and benefits (in brief):

• Up to £75,000 per annum
• Up to £5k relocation allowance
• Bring your dog to work
• 6.6 weeks annual leave & increasing holiday allowance based on length of service
• Private medical insurance, enhanced policies including maternity/ paternity/ adoption etc
• £1250 CPD allowance with 5 days paid pro rata, additional learning and development opportunities

About the practice:

An established, well equipped practice which is well equipped and had a large number of clients who have been registered with them for many years and enjoy a nice relationship with the team. The team is a supportive team of experienced Vets, RVN’s and support staff who enjoy learning and teaching and sharing knowledge. Overall, they are looking for someone who takes joy in coming to work and offering excellent patient care, utilising fear free techniques.

They have modern surgical and diagnostic facilities and equipment including digital x-ray, ultrasound, in-house blood biochemistry, orthopaedic and soft tissue surgical equipment, ECG and Echocardiography, in-house blood haematology, and spacious wards.

Minimum requirements:

• RCVS Registered Veterinary Surgeon, or eligible to register in 2024
• Eligible to work in the UK
• Confident performing routine 1st opinion consults and surgery
