We are looking for a Vet Surgeon to cover maternity leave at our clients veterinary practice situated in Wrexham, Denbighshire.
A not for profit organisation that is spacious and well equipped they have a team of 6 Vets and are looking for a Vet to join them covering 6-12 months maternity leave and after this time frame with their expansion goals is likely to be a permanent position available after the maternity cover contract.
- Full or part time (minimum of 2 days per week)
- Usual working rota is 4 days per week
- For the maternity cover position no OOHs or weekend working is required
- Shift times are either 8.30am – 6.30pm or 9am-7pm with 1hr lunch and dedicated admin time
You need to be a competent small animal vet who enjoys doing a mixture of both consults and 1st opinion surgery. The usual week is 4 days a week with 2 days as surgery days and the others consulting. Consults are in 15 minute blocks and dental surgery is limited to 1 dental surgery per day. Nurses are hands on and encouraged to use their skills and abilities e.g dental scrapes.
As a maternity cover contract you can be added onto Payroll or IR35 compliant. They are also looking into the possibility of being able to hire Ltd company contractors however this is TBC and currently being investigated with HR and the relevant bodies.
Minimum requirements:
- RCVS Registered Vet Surgeon
- Eligible to work in the UK
- Confident performing 1st opinion consultations and surgery
