Due to relocation a job opportunity has arisen at a fantastic Equine Veterinary practice situated close to the Mendip Hills, Somerset. We are looking for a Equine Vet to join their team on a full or part time permanent basis.

  • Excellent varied caseload from International Event Horses to pet ponies and everything in-between
  • Up to date mobile equipment AND purpose built clinic with fantastic equipment and facilities
  • NO zone days so no boring vaccination days
A mainly ambulatory role but with use of the purpose built clinic with exceptional lameness investigation facilities, stabling for day patients, large examination room and stocks as well as up to date mobile equipment including two portable digital radiography systems, two ultrasound machines with a range of probes, motorised dental floats, video gastroscope and endoscope and a lameness locator (Equinosis gait analysis system).  The caseload does have a small amount of stud work which you are welcome to get involved in if this interests you.
Outside of general equine practice there are opportunities to help provide veterinary cover at local events including point to points and agricultural shows.
As a Vet here you are encouraged to build your own client base and hone your own areas of interest. A really supportive team who often refer internally between Vets; allowing colleagues to learn from each other and develop your own expertise/ interests.
The right fit for this team is an enthusiastic team player who enjoys the challenges and benefits of a varied general practice caseload. You will ideally have 2+ years experience but this role is open to applicants with a minimum of 1 year experience within equine practice.
Working rota:
  • Full or Part Time
  • 1 in 4 weekends on call, 2 days in lieu provided
  • Protected time in your diary following an evening or weekend on call for admin tasks/ follow up appointments
