We have an exciting Deputy Head Veterinary Nurse (DHVN) job opportunity at a fantastic 1st opinion veterinary practice in Ormskirk. The role available is full time permanent but offers a flexible rota, competitive salary up to £29,500 and career progression.
- Full time, the role requires a minimum contract of 32hrs per week up to 40hrs
- 4 or 5 days a week, shifts between 7am-9pm
- 1 in 5 Weekends
- NO OOHs past 7pm
The practice has 3 small animal surgeries in the local area. As Deputy HVN of the Ormskirk branch you would report to the HVN at the main surgery and assist daily in managing the nursing team at this site.
Across the 3 sites they have a team of 35 nursing staff, consisting of RVN’s/SVN’s/VCA’s/AUX staff. VN staff hold ECC cert/ VNES Cert/ NCert AnBeh / Dermatology certification.
Duties include but are not limited to:
• To support, on a daily basis, the Head Nurse, in the leading of the nursing team
• Be responsible and accountable for leading the nursing team in the absence of the Head Nurse
• To work as an active member of the clinical support team
• To fully participate in the Nursing rota as directed by the Head Nurse
• To provide the highest standards of client service and patient care
• There will be additional tasks including clinical coaching, rotas, H&S, organisation of twice yearly stocktake and ensuring that all nursing protocols are maintained and complied with
Salary is up to £29,500 and is negotiable dependent on experience.
Minimum requirements:
- Qualified and RCVS Registered Veterinary Nurse
- Eligible to work in the UK
