We are looking for an experienced Veterinary Surgeon to join our clients friendly and caring Small Animal practice in the historic market town of Witney, Oxfordshire. The position will be available on a 1 year, fixed term basis, to provide Maternity Cover from December 2022 to December 2023.

Working rota:

  • Available from December 2022
  • 1 Year Fixed Term – Maternity Cover
  • No OOH
  • 8 hour days, including paid lunch break

About the practice:

Offering a wide range of services, the position available will include a mix of consulting and surgery. As such, you should be an experienced veterinary surgeon, confident with both medical and surgical cases.

The practice is open from 8:30am to 7:30pm, offering shifts either 8:30am-4:30pm or 11:30am-7:30pm.  You would be joining an experienced team totalling 6 vets, each with a range of individual interests, including certificate holders. Additionally, you will be supported by 9 RVNs (again, some with certificates) and a great, friendly reception team.

The practice have all the necessary equipment to provide a high level of clinical care,  including digital x-ray, dental x-ray, ultrasound and in house Idexx machines.

About you:

  • Qualified and registered veterinary surgeon, eligible to work in the UK
  • 3+ years experience in either small animal or mixed animal practice
  • You must be competent with the majority of consults and routine surgeries (although support available from experienced team members!)

Salary:

  • £42,000 – £60,000 FTE, depending on experience
